In my observation, most people rely on social media for people's birthdays. So if you hide yours, then they forget. How do you feel about this?

I know my close friends' birthdays. Others I probably would have to consult social media, but I don't think I'm obligated to know more than immediate family and close friends.

I hide it on purpose, I just like really close people or friends wishing me happy birthday, not just everyone. And they know it when it is and if a friend forgets I don't care.

My family forgot my birthday on a regular basis when I was a kid. Why would having it on Facebook be any different.

You humans and your birthday celebrations. What's to celebrate? The day your mothers ejected you from their wombs? Try being only two weeks old and realizing your life depends upon you escaping from a confining, suffocating shell. That is something worth celebrating.

I don’t care. I also don’t have social media to remind them. Those that care will remember. The rest really don’t matter and there’s no reason to judge them either.

It upset me a lot.
Because I made a special effort to remember people's birthdays, call send cards and sometimes gifts but what I did get was 0...
It would have been nice to be remembered.
But some people go as far as telling you "oh mum reminded me..."

Im not overly bothered! Id rather forget my birthday too now I'm getting older 😏
