British people continue to be drawn to Stonehenge to celebrate the winter solstice as they have done for thousands of years

No dogma, just fun and a hot drink on a cold day. 🙂

In Brighton they have the ancient celebration of the Burning of Clocks. Started in 1994.

@SW-User Not a bad idea.

I was just reading that it's gridlocked with traffic at the moment. Kind of ironic that an ancient tradition is fucked up by a modern one 😂

@SW-User Sitting in a traffic jam at holiday time is another ancient British custom 🙂
In all seriousness, I think there's a bit of a race memory thing going on here. Maybe on the surface it's for fun and laughs, but on a deeper level the people are drawn by something that's in the DNA. Something that was very important to their ancestors in a dim distant past.

@robingoodfellow The average British persons DNA is between 50% and 30% Celt, so it’s possible.

Not often I’m keen on doing anything with a crowd, but I’d do that! 😄

There is a replica in Goldendale, WA but I don’t think they have ceremonies there.
