Yes. I've been fortunate that way too, as far as my 'real life' male friends. I've been seeing and hearing the bitter, angry sort of talk from men about being "friend-zoned" for a long time now, expressed in various ways. I can understand the hurt and even anger if they've actually been led to believe they were a romantic interest to a woman, and been used in some way. That doesn't seem to have been the case the though, many, many times.

Consider yourself lucky in that regard. I'm not saying I never have feelings in that way for a guy, but it has been very rare in my life and so many guys have said I friendzoned them. And I'm like yeah, aren't we friends??? 🧐

The whole "friend-zone" thing is something I never really thought about -- maybe it's generational? I mean, of course in a lifetime you meet someone you like as a friend but you;d also like a sexual relationship with, but if it isn't mutual all you can do is accept it -- no need to naming it "friend-zoning" or whatever, it's just life.
bijouxbroussard · F
@ChipmunkErnie It is a relatively newer phenomenon, although people had other terms for the same idea.

@bijouxbroussard It's life -- I don't remember needing a term for it, even if it was a staple in old movies.

Felt. Direct correlation to this premise as to why I've had very...very few male friends. This mindfully, from a fan of men. In terms of simply seeking shared connection on what ever non romantic, there relentlessly exists an eventual undercurrent of lust exposed.

@Punxi They still fall in love with you; they often see me as a sister. Though occasionally, even at this august age I discover someone has something else in mind. 🤭

@bijouxbroussard Well...not to find excuse nor.... validation in that...kinda .but..well..

That's one scenario. Another is someone that actually loves you but is afraid of losing the friendship. They truly care and want to be a partner.

There is always someone out for something. Even women.
One girl even wanted me to get her pregnant. She even boasted the fact when someone else eventually got her pregnant.
Knew another girl that killed a biker and stole his car. She trashed my place ran up a $400 phone bill.

@DeWayfarer I’m not speaking of psychos, here.
Although I’ve met my share of those, too.

@bijouxbroussard oh I do admit most are fairly decent. I do have that list of women that I care about. It's quite lengthy in fact.
Yet there are the psychos that must be included. They are people if not good people.

I'm aware of guys like that. I'm not one of those.
bijouxbroussard · F
@uncalled4 I believe that. 🤗

@bijouxbroussard Thanks. This doesn't mean that I find my women friends off-putting in any way(I'm a guy!), just that we're better off as friends. I have received plenty of great advice.

Men arent the only culprits in this.
bijouxbroussard · F
@Carla True—and I would never say otherwise.
Carla · 61-69, F
@bijouxbroussard what are you doing up, woman?
I was just only saying, i reckon, that i have found myself in that situation with especially straight women friends. Or what i thought as friends.

@Carla I think it was about then that I realized what time it was ! 🥱
