Wiseacre · F
I am very limited in what I share on any social media site.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Wiseacre As am I. Very few people get much at all out of me on social media. Even less these days than a few years ago.
Wiseacre · F
I’m with u, lady… they know me in bits and pieces. No one will ever fully know me, and I believe this is true for everyone.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Wiseacre Yes. I believe it is too.

Heartbreak is part of life...
Oh well...people come and go...
I just feel my energies have gone to waste.
The only thing constant in life is CHANGE.
The problem is once we get shut out..we do not have that feeling of giving again.

@scorpiolovedeep I'm sorry there's been heartache for you, but it happens to us all at sometime. But, being hurt badly enough, changes the depth of emotion you're capable of from that point on. At least I think so.
scorpiolovedeep · 51-55, M
True 🙏🏼@LadyBronte
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
I believe what you describe is quite common. We all show a face to almost everyone in our lives that hides, suppresses or "reserves" part of ourselves we dont want others to see, or judge us by..😷
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@whowasthatmaskedman I think it's common as well, and maybe even normal. An open book is a much too dangerous way to live. As Billy Joel says - "We all have a face that we hide away forever and we take them out and show ourselves when everyone else is gone".

@LadyBronte Indeed, I had that song in my head while I was writing. I have different friend groups I know would never get along with each other. (Less since I retired) There are parts of me I just dont feel comfortable sharing. Having said that, now I have one of my major sharers in care, I feel like that face has to be silent..😷
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@whowasthatmaskedman I understand the different friend groups and maybe they're not getting along. I definitley have friends that are at odds with each other, but I love them anyway, and I do know which parts and opinions to keep to myself. Luckily it doesn't bother me in that context. Even if they don't know the score, I do. So I keep things in check.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
I like flying close to the sun. It doesn’t matter what anyone knows, or thinks. It just matters if they’re coming along for the ride. That’s where the positive energy comes from.

@LadyBronte It’s not hard. Both of us gain by having a trustworthy friend that makes us smile enough to log into SW.
Your friendship is appreciated. We’ve seen a lot.

@Adogslife Yes. We have. Hugs to you, my friend.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@LadyBronte For sure ❤
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
My very closest friends know in part that I like very spicy sex and spanking but they don't know the extent of that.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@PatientlyWaiting25 Maybe one day you'll find the one you can share it all with.
StarLily · 51-55, F
Pretty much the same as what you described. There was one person... but it doesn't matter anymore.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@StarLily I'm sorry to hear that. It's difficult at best, even if it doesn't matter anymore.
@StarLily did you also feel that person got "too close"?
StarLily · 51-55, F
@ThirstenHowl No, I didn't feel that way about it.
Just a few. It's very hard for me to get close to anyone. for various reasons.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@DancingStarGoddess Same. Extremely difficult for me to let anyone in - worse now than it used to be.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
Nobody really knows me. My son knows me how he knows me, but theres no one else who listens to me.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@ScreamingFox I feel like that is the way it is for a lot of us. I don't know that anyone really listens to me either or puts too much stock into anything I say. I've accepted that and moved on. I don't try to make many points anymore - it is too much hassle.
Magenta · F
Maybe one. And not 100%.
Humans in large part live by projections, perceptions, assuming, and what they want , need or imagine us to be..

Magenta · F
P.S. I will add.. I don't allow my entire (deeper) self to be known. I think most us don't. Maybe it's more of just a natural instinct. Parts of us, are ours alone.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Magenta Agreed. Letting anyone know too much about us can be dangerous. Safety says, hold back the parts that are sensitive, personal, and easily destroyed. Too bad we forget that once in a while.
SomeIrishPerson · 31-35, M
No one does really. I am content with that. People see as much of me as I let them see.
deadgerbil · 26-30, M
@SomeIrishPerson it's time for you to grace the image feed,,, see everything
SomeIrishPerson · 31-35, M
@deadgerbil

LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@SomeIrishPerson I feel I could have written that. I am always my genuine self, but people only see as much as I allow...which most of the time isn't much. There is safety in not letting very few see the real me.
Cigarguy · 41-45, M
My partner and my buddy. They know me better than I do
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Cigarguy It would be nice to have someone you could be so honest with all the time. Most of us will never know that feeling. *shrug*
Cigarguy · 41-45, M
@LadyBronte I am very lucky 🥰
FreeorLonely · 51-55, F
No one knows me completely
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@FreeorLonely Probably not even you. Thats what therapy is all about. So we can discover who we are..😷
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@FreeorLonely Nor I. I believe I like it that way.
I am not even quite sure who I am the more I interact with this world
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@PepsiColaP I get that. Life makes us all question everything at one time or another
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
Very few, if any, know me in totality.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Ambroseguy80 Me either.
RosaMarie · 46-50, F
Probably none.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@RosaMarie Same.
dirge · M
🤔. er. none think they do, I suppose. fewer want to. freedom to the nth degree.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@dirge I suppose a few want to know me as well, but as they say...want in one hand and spit in the other - see which one fills up first. Lol.
Piper · 61-69, F
Maybe two, out of the ones still living.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Piper Two is more than most have, I think.

Who truly knoweth thee?
Parents?
Who truly knoweth thee?
Parents?
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@PatKirby I'm pretty sure most parents don't always know their kids once they begin to grow up. I don't think any one person truly knows the inner workings of any of us.
OogieBoogie · F
Well shee-it.
Even im still finding out who i am 🤷♀
Even im still finding out who i am 🤷♀
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@OogieBoogie That's a good thing. How boring life would be if we were stagnant and offered ourselves no surprises anymore.
OogieBoogie · F
@LadyBronte honestly....sometimes a litttle boring could be nice😏
But you could be right. Would we be happy if we knew exaclty who we are ?
We might just get complacent🤷♀

LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@OogieBoogie Lol. Yeah. A little boring from time to time would be nice. 😆
Why did you find it that one person to be "too close" to the entirety of you? What made it a bad thing?
