I was thinking about these little bones recently myself!! I had clenched one night in my sleep, and my tooth was sore for several days. I thought wow they are strong, yet fragile. And I remember how my sister had a tooth issue recently and it had to be removed..she was in a lot of pain. Just think hundreds of years ago you'd just have to deal with it, no real pain meds.
And then ironically on top of that, I saw online on some archives page on FB last week, it listed what people died of in around the 1700's...one of the top things was tooth infection 😔 Such a tiny bone, but so important!!
