“What’s the wildest thing in public you’ve ever seen or experienced?”

Maybe not the wildest, but the most horrific thing was driving down the autobahn in northern Germany with snow covered roads and temps below zero.

I was driving in the right lane, going slow and driving carefully when I went over a rise in the road and a Mercedes passed me in the left lane. It was almost flying and I thought to myself, that's crazy just as the road took a long slow turn to the left. I saw the Mercedes begin to slide and when my eyes shifted up I saw two children looking out the rear window with looks of shear terror on their faces as the Mercedes slid off the road and dropped out of sight over a cliff.

That was in the late 70s and it still haunts me. I'll never forget the look on their faces.

The ladies, most in their 70's chased the cheeky rogue up a tree. The walking sticks they used were actually used for hunting wombat. So he was in serious trouble. 😅

I was at a Latin festival when I was about 25 with my girlfriend and we watched a guy get stabbed multiple times.

A year or so before that I went to Vegas and I was with my fiancé in a TAXI going to dinner on the highway and a guy car came driving up beside us and the driver pulled a gun on us. It lasted about 15 seconds and I ducked down and it’s the TAXI driver said that he was probably realized he had the wrong person and drove off.

I have had multiple scary encounters with men who have approached me out of nowhere and verbally assaulted me, and even threatened to rape me and I don’t even know why

The worst was right outside my old office. It was at one of the big London train terminus and above the bus station there. I came down the steps onto the street and up to the lights that let the buses out. Big queue of buses waiting for the lights. A few people waiting. A guy, looking like one of the many homeless that lived in the park just there pushed past me to the front of the line. Buses start to pour out. I watched him watching them intently then suddenly no warning he dived under the wheels of one. That dragged him underneath then the back wheels went over him and the second bus hit him before stopping with him trapped underneath. All this is close to a major London hospital. A woman runs forward shouting she's a nurse. I helped pull the guy out but already she's saying he's dead. Paramedics arrived and the police and I spent part of the afternoon giving a statement. I was called as a witness to the inquest. "Death by misadventure"

So sad. Traumatised me for ages.

The wildest was back in my 20s working at a different place in another part of London. It became "a thing" after a few drinks on a pubcrawl to streak from one pub to the next. Mostly us stupid guys for a bet. But one girl Caroline always joined in regardless of any dare or bet she just seemed intent on stripping off and running through the street of the City.

I was walking down Longwood Ave. in Brookline at 2 a.m. trying to reach the gas station and a pay phone...my "date" was so drunk he would not allow me to drive him home, and abandoned me...so I walked...alone, at night...and suddenly, out from a bus kiosk, there sprang a man wearing an open raincoat and nothing else, yanking on himself. In about half a block...it hit me...what had happened...and I started to run.
