I think it might be pretty common. When i was in the Army, they packed as many as 3 men into a room in the barracks, but women got their own rooms. ..and the equipment we were issued, the men would only get half of a pup tent. The other half was supposed to come from another man who'd be sharing the pup tent with you. ..the women, however, they were issued both halves so they wouldn't have to share with anyone
My point is that if the Army has structured their SOP around keeping women apart, maybe there's a reason. Im sure there is and I'm sure they put a lot of thought into it and have a lot of stats on why.
