What do you say to women who are concerned about their body image?

I have two friends right now who are very concerned about their weight and looks in general. I see two truths here:
1. They both look great and are worrying about nothing,
2. It doesn't matter anyway because they're my friends and I know that they're beautiful inside and out. That has a LOT of attractive potential.

I've told them the second part. I'm hesitant to add the first part because then it sounds like it's about that. 🤷‍♂ I swear, even the most beautiful women over-worry about their looks.

Generally, the former they - we - think is just general chatter and meaningless.

My wife busted her ankle last year and was unable to exercise properly for a good month or more. During that time she did gain weight, and that was her concern, and she did laugh it off but I know that she did find it a little upsetting too.

Bringing up weight turns the focus back on that. try to look at other complementary things about them.

@SinlessOnslaught No, it's ok to say those things because it's heartfelt from you, which is lovely....BUT they won't hear it because their minds are stuck on the weigh issue.
@KarenDuponteDurose Makes sense. Thank you.

Just to be clear, you are a woman, married to a woman? It's fine, and nothing unusual, just asking because that would be a great person to recieve woman advice from lol.

@SinlessOnslaught Yes and yes! That's why I'm giving the advice! No problemo! 🙂
Just tell them you think they're beautiful, their character is amazing and you love how they X insert a specific there. Idk, that sounds much more sincere rather than potential thing, that's icky for me.

And ofc none of it matters at the end of the day, because it should come from them, not male validation. But it's nice to hear compliments, especially from loved ones or friends. It could help them get there.

@SinlessOnslaught It's not an 'ickie' thing it's just something that doesn't match up to what their own perceptions are of themselves.
@SinlessOnslaught idk I said for me. But "potential" sounds a bit, idk like you're ugly now, you have the potential to become beautiful. They're enough now, as you said. We all are.
It's my opinion.

Just say it if you feel it's right ..

Not all some are confident

I would tell them to send me nudes of themselves and I will tell them how beautiful they are. 🤓
Poke their belly and then poke mine
@SinlessOnslaught like this
@catastrophecarnival I tried to usher a woman away from her disabled car and out of the middle of traffic and she whimpered in fear. I am NOT doing what you just showed me.
