As there anyone out there who would just love to have a nice little online friendship?

Someone who just wants to talk about their day and make each other laugh. And no thinking about meeting or dating or none of the tough stuff. Just honest to goodness friends. Like pen pals used to do. Preferably female. No I don’t hate men. Just don’t have a lot of female friends in my life. Not real sure I believe in all that “girl power” crap, but I thought just having one pal online with no expectations would be a hell of a lot better than what I’ve been presented lately in my everyday life.

Most of the women on here prefer to get to know people on Q&A before messaging with them.

It saves a lot of hassle from those with ulterior motives.

@IttyOldBitty I think that it's the best advice. Like just (try to) be friendly and open and social, read peoples things and write something once in a while and you'll have tons of people to talk to!

Pen pals are nice to have whether male or female. I understand not having a lot of female friends. I don’t have many either. I usually get along with men better maybe because I was the only female other than my mother in a family of six. There are sincere people here worth getting to know don’t let others put you off by trying to lump everyone into one category. We are all here for different reasons. Read profiles and choose who to talk to by what is or isn’t there and what they say in comments and posts. Welcome to SW and I hope your experience here is a positive one. Mine has been. I spend a good part of my time ✍️ poetry and stories and conversations with friends. You can make it whatever you want it to be.

I'd expect there to be loads, but I also expect that few people want to put time and effort into things; a strong preference for someone to entertain them.

@stound I think that this is a good point. If someone is only looking for someone to entertain them then you will know almost right away since people like that are also super impatient and defnitely don't want to waste time not getting their entertainment. So if that happens just move on to the next

Anything more than a casual friendship online just leads to someone getting hurt. Of course there are exceptions to that but they are in the minority.

@Sevendays I see where you’re coming from but I don’t think just having decent, friendly chats with someone could hurt. I mean depending upon what both or all parties want and are in agreement in the friendship. If that makes sense? Not sure I worded that in the best way lol sorry, I tried.

@in10RjFox it’s always going to be hard to find the genuine ones. Heck I’m just enjoying the interaction on this queue alone. It’s got us all talking and I think that’s pretty cool despite never having one on one chats. I also think this way that maybe we really could weed out the ones who aren’t genuine. Maybe I’m just being silly. Or maybe I’m just hoping that everyone will keep talking just the way they are now. And anyone who chooses not to be a part of it can it participate and that’s ok too. But I do see exactly where you’re coming from.

@exita yeah that’s what I’m looking for. I guess you could say a bit of an online friend support group. Everyone needs someone cheering them on. Even if it means someone they’ve never met! Just looking kind folks. I’m still holding onto kindness still existing. It has to.

@SW-User no I honestly just wanted some friends to talk to. Been having a hard time lately and needed some decent conversations to take my mind off of it all. Health problems and anxiety are no fun. Just needed some folks who are a bit detached from my issues to bounce thoughts off of. But yeah I can understand why you’d say that.

@DemureDeb I’m just looking to connect with people who are just genuinely kind to each other. Send a good morning or how are you every now and again. We need more of that all over the world. I figured I give it a shot here. I know it may be a long shot and there will always be buttholes looking to cause a stink but there have GOT to be some true, decent and kind people on here somewhere on this forum looking to root each other on.
