Was I wrong?

A girl I have known since high school moved in a few doors down from me. Her car broke down yesterday, and she asked me if she could use my car today. When she brought it back, she said. "Just to let you know, it's almost empty, and it was almost Empty when you let me borrow it so I put $20 in it." Then she stood there staring at me. I asked her what's up and she said." I want my $20 back." I told her she was the one that drove it. She just looked at me and then called me a cheapscape and walked away.

She should have paid you to borrow it AND put gas in it. It was a big risk you took because if she had been in a wreck, she would not have been on your insurance and you’d be in trouble.

Maybe this is why I never ended up rich.

I cannot conceive of borrowing someone's CAR, putting gas in it, and asking to be reimbursed.

And the $20 was her choice. If she intended to ask for repayment, she should have asked you first.

She made assumptions and she's a twit.

I had a female fellow student show me her room in a students apartment so I could move in there next. She was very nice answering my questions, but then made me believe the mirror at the wall was put up by her and if I wanted to keep it, I should give her $10. It was far later when I found out that such mirrors where put up in every damn room in that house. 🙄
