They may not have to try very hard . As repressive and tyrannical as the Australian government has become they may beg China for acceptance into their stable
acpguy · C
They probably won't need to as from what I read your country is turning communist / socialist on its own.

{@littlebumblebee] emphasise the word rumour 😄 perhaps more a case of scaremongering if there is no hard proof that is what the chinese are really planning
Rickg · 31-35, M
Idk. India is a very powerful and nuclear country with a huge population
And Australia is aligned with the other western powers,
So I doubt it honestly despite all the tough talk

What a stupid question?? China does not want Australia no matter what the western media tells you. As someone who knows fluent Chinese and has spent every year for the past 25 years either visiting or living in Mainland China I find this question to be insanely ignorant. Come and live in China, experience daily life, and you will soon realize that 90%+ of stories told about China are false.
RoxClymer · 41-45, M
naw, I wouldn't worry
1- that's stright out of a movie plot
2- messing with AUS means messing with the UK, which also means messing with USA.
and China doesn't want to dig a hole that deep

not the land mass that really matters in that situation
even though presumably China would take over AUs for natural resources, AUs has relatively few.
what matters in that situation is military size, AUs is friendly allies with the Empire of the United Kingdom, who is allies with the United States, which has the largest number of military installations around the world
the US will send enough forces to protect US bases in and surrounding Australia

Hence the sale of nuclear submarines by our President. They are much better off now!
SabinaV · 22-25, F
@Pfuzylogic China will capture India in Next 2-3 Years and then India ocean will be a Part of Greater China 💁♀️
Pfuzylogic · M
@SabinaV
What could you possibly base that prediction on? There is no profit for them to take over a third world country!

@SabinaV yeah, china will capture indian ocean, but usa still have diego garcia

I guess it is time to sell all my stocks on Australia 🇦🇺 😂🤣😂.. what's your country? How and where are they getting this news
Lol. China is nearly too big as it is. It can't absorb another country the size of Australia and stay stable.
retiredbum · 56-60, M
they're slowly moving south, taking the phillipines fishing ground
SabinaV · 22-25, F
So by 2030 Australia and India will be a Integral Part of China 💁♀️
Tres13 · 51-55, M

You are omitting about 1000 years of Tibetan history before Tibet was conquered by the Qing dynasty. It was subjugated for one or two centuries by the Mongols and the Yuan dynasty, but otherwise was independent for that 1000 years.
And no, I'm not comparing Tibet and Australia; I don't think a military invasion by China of Australia is likely. I was just pointing out that your blanket statement about China not invading and subjugating other countries is not entirely correct.

@Thinkerbell I didn't ignore. But that history has no meaning. Borders change with time.
US wasn't as big as it is now some 200 years ago either. South Asia was solely India only but now 7 countries make South Asia and that happened just 70 years ago.
India won a territory from China in 1967 that india claimed always. Ironically, not a single native from that region looks like indian but Chinese only. We just won the war & took it. People supported us nonetheless. That's how countries expand or shrink.
China has every right on Tibet. I oppose it coz I belong to India. But China isn't wrong when they claim it's theirs, just like hongkong or Taiwan. Dalai Lama is a US sponsered rebel puppet only... same type of rebel puppet that you find in afganistan but call them terrorists as they are against Western interest. Later is just more violent, better armed.
That's all.

So in the end, what you are saying is that many countries have exercised their "right of conquest" to expand their territory.
And China is no exception, contrary to the statement you made earlier about Chinese expansionism.
