naw, I wouldn't worry
1- that's stright out of a movie plot
2- messing with AUS means messing with the UK, which also means messing with USA.
and China doesn't want to dig a hole that deep

not the land mass that really matters in that situation
even though presumably China would take over AUs for natural resources, AUs has relatively few.
what matters in that situation is military size, AUs is friendly allies with the Empire of the United Kingdom, who is allies with the United States, which has the largest number of military installations around the world
the US will send enough forces to protect US bases in and surrounding Australia
