How do you spend your Saturday mornings?

I wake up after a nice, long sleep in, head to the shower and then trundle to the kitchen to put the kettle on. I fill my bowl with crunchy nut cornflakes, pour on the milk, then make my tea and sit at my kitchen table to look out the window to think over my coming day. Some Saturdays I like to just be home alone to do what I want. Mostly read, watch a film, bake or go for a walk out of town.
I never get the urge to call someone for a chat because I think alone time is important when you spend all week with people and hardly get any time to yourself.
I drink quite a lot of tea, I like to try different brands, mostly Yorkshire tea, Typhoo or English Breakfast which I always have in the mornings. It's the best.

I get up at various times. I have a cat and the cat has NEEDS!!!! If he is feeling needy, he will jump up on the bed, and start batting me in the face with one sharp claw...🤣🤣🤣

Then I have to get up and clean his dish out, and mash his food, and feed him. Sometimes, if it is late enough, I will take my vitamins and a caffeine capsule and have a glass of water.

I hop onto SW, and wake up here...mostly. Sometimes I have to bargain with myself..."No SW until you've done your chores!" 🤣🤣🤣

Use the first several minutes trying to process what day of the week it is. Then smile knowing no one has to work that day. Make coffee. Gather my wits with every sip taken. Do a few chores. Make breakfast. Wake everyone up then we all decide the path of the day.

Have you tried "Taylors of Harrogate English Breakfast Tea" ?
It's excellent! 😋
I put some evaporated milk into it, that will make it even smoother.

@ArtieKat I love Lapsang Suchong so very much, and I used to drink Twinings Lapsang Suchong almost daily when it was still available.
They don't make it anymore 😐

@helenS Do you have Amazon deliveries in SlobadonLand?
helenS · 36-40, F
@ArtieKat Yes but I can't find it. There's a "smokey" replacement offered by Twinings, but it's just that, smokey. It's not the same kind of tea. I think it's based on ordinary Assam tea.

Wake up at 6.30am to the sound of my 13 year old turning the kitchen upside down . . she hasn't yet grasped the concept of teenagers lying in bed all day. Eggs and tea in my dressing gown, followed by a long bath. Then ferrying my daughter between judo, gymnastics and visiting her granddad. Long walk in the afternoon with anyone who will join me. Family dinner in the evening.
Wake up, possibly go to the gym, coffee, bible study, possibly have breakfast with my wife if she isn't yelling at her relatives over the phone in SiLozi or Nyanja, then do my uni coursework for the day (yeah, working 5 days a week isn't enough), then read some Christian literature, finish off with a film.

Out of uni season definitely have some mates around.

@BritishFailedAesthetic Sounds like a very good and fulfilling weekend!
@Jemimapuddleduck Thankyou, the most fulfilling days are Sundays ATM, get to go to church and then do some leisurely reading of my hobbies- wine and astronomy!
@Jemimapuddleduck Also forgot to say, great choice on Yorkshire Tea, though it doesn't display the 'gleadless' view of Sheffield from my dad's side 😅

Lovely view you have outside too.

Two mugs of tea and an hour or two with a book, whenever possible.

I am at work
At work mainly
Usually a bit of coffee and time with The Hound before I beat the crazies to the grocery store. I try to knock everything out Saturday morning so I can enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Get up earlier than I want, let the dogs out, feed the dogs, make a cup of hot tea, and try to read some while the house is quite

Almost the perfect Saturday... im afraid your tea is a little weak though. Should have double bagged it.
Jemimapuddleduck · 31-35, F
@vorian You need some strong breakfast tea!

Pretty much the same way I spend every other day. Being retired the days all blend into each other.

Get woken up by the fur and non fur children.
Make a coffee.
Watch cartoons.
Make breakfast.
Do the laundry.
Shower.
Leave the house
I actually get up relatively early, take out the garbage and recycling, go for a short walk, return, shower and then make a "weekend" breakfast (eggs, bacon or sausage, good coffee), watch a favorite tv show.
Then the rest of the day I take care of other things, or get together with friends, etc.
Jemimapuddleduck · 31-35, F
@bijouxbroussard I love a good bacon and eggs!
