Street Party for The Coronation! 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧

I love the place where I live and the neighbours I’ve got. Isn’t this smashing??

Just won this in the raffle. Get in!!!
@Oneofthestormboys Save the whisky for special occasions. Southern comfort, tuck right in!

I wish I liked my neighbors enough to enjoy a block party.
Scribbles · 36-40, F
@DearAmbellina2113 I can understand that. We used to grill and have a small street party once or twice a year in our front yard at our old house. We moved to an apartment in the winter and haven't gotten to know more then one neighbor really.

In my experience (which is more from my husband really since he is the partier of the two of us) if you have decent alcohol and grill some food, pretty much everyone will be happy, even if they just stop by for ten minutes instead of an hour or two.

🤔Wonder if we can grill in the parking lot and bring some chairs and folding tables out on the sidewalk maybe on a nice day, just for fun.

Neat! Thanks for sharing. I was wondering how people were celebrating King Charles Coronation this weekend. I grew up and live in the USA, so I'm clueless about it.

🤔 If we had a monarchy, we'd probably have street/block parties too. Have a good time at the party!
Oneofthestormboys · 56-60, M
@Scribbles Very lucky to live down a cul-de-sac where we all get on and have these parties quite often. It’s in aid of a cancer charity this time. Plus we all have a drink, bouncy castle for the kids and a street disco. Brilliant 🤩
Mind you, any excuse for a party really!
Scribbles · 36-40, F
@Oneofthestormboys We do stuff like that too. Usually at a nearby park typically if it's a charity based event
. So you can have a fun run as well as the bouncy castle, or inflatable obstacle course, and a playground. Room for music without some grump phoning the police. lol
Looking nice, I hope everyone had a good time

Oh fuck the coronation and fuck the royal lot
helenS · 36-40, F
Actually it's interesting to see that so many British people celebrate something which has nothing to do with their real lives, apart from the fact that they have to pay for the show, as taxpayers.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@helenS Mmm, I don't think you understand the British and their relationship with the Royal Family. I have British friends and the Royal Family is very important to them and their daily lives.

Naturally enough, there are some British people who don't give tuppence for them, but they are a minority.
