I love being a carnivore

I only eat meat, fish, and eggs. No dairy, even though some carnivores indulge and it tastes oh so good, but I can't tolerate it myself. I drink tons of water and have one cup of black coffee every morning to get my day started. I absolutely love it! I've been doing it for the past year and my body has never felt better. My autoimmune diseases are finally all in remission when nothing else has ever worked. I started this diet right after developing a terminal illness and any time I stop doing it, my illness gets much worse very quickly, and starts improving again when I get back to carnivore. It's a big part of why I'm still alive right now! And it brought me out of acute heart failure when medications alone were not enough. My vitamin and electrolyte deficiencies are gone. I can think clearly. My mental and physical health are drastically improved on this diet, it's the #1 most lifechanging thing I have ever experienced. The best tasting, most energizing meal is a raw little filet mignon just seared for a minute on each side.

I was skeptical at first because it's always repeated as common sense that vegetables and fruit are good for you and necessary, but it turns out that all plant chemicals and carbohydrates actually DO hurt my body, I had no idea just how much until I tried eating this way and was suddenly no longer sick! Some people are very against eating this way and I can't understand why, plenty of people have asked me how I got to look so much better and become so much healthier but then once I tell them they get mad and promise me I "will" start getting worse from it instead someday, and I must add some "health foods" like cereal and beans back into my diet LOL 馃ぃ馃ぃ forever patiently waiting for that day to come. I don't care if the bread is whole grain, it gives me arthritis, fibromyalgia, interstitial cystitis, gastroparesis, lupus, IBS, eczema, makes my autism symptoms and mental health much worse. Meat only heals my body and brain to the fullest extent possible. Doctor Shawn Baker's book is practically the Bible on this way of eating, it's very informative and I highly recommend it to anyone who's interested in learning about this!

I've considered trying it, but I do worry about the cholesterol and long term cancer risks. I've gone keto though for about the past month and plan to keep at it for another two months or so before transitioning to whole foods.

@ViciDraco everyone says this but there's no such risk.

@LadyGrace according to the science there is. But the risk is much lower if you aren't eating sugars and carbs. Red meat + high sugar seems to be the most dangerous combination.

@ViciDraco yeah there's a lot of naysayers but they don't know what they're talking about. I have used this diet for chronic disease and it works. Even cardiologists are changing their tune and telling people to get on this diet.

@ViciDraco it sure does raise cholesterol but my understanding is that carnivores don't build arterial plaques from the high cholesterol levels, that only happens in people with insulin resistance and inflammation. My cholesterol stays 250-300 and when they do my CT scans there are no plaques in my arteries. I have heard the same from many long-term carnivores their cholesterol has been high for years or even decades because that's the normal biological response to only eating meat, your cholesterol level WILL always be higher because you're ingesting way more of it than before, but that's not necessarily harmful for everyone, and when they get CT scans there are no plaques in their arteries either. I have yet to find a single person who has developed heart disease or any other illness from following this diet, the only thing that seems to happen medically is changed in lipid panel results but the changes don't appear to be harmful. Cholesterol is actually a vital nutrient for your brain and body, it's extremely important for proper brain function. There's no reason to be scared of it, people have been mislead to believe it's unhealthy when it's not

@LadyGrace I haven't seen cardiologists really changing their tunes. I've seen endocrinologists and people who work with insulin resistance and diabetes suggesting it may be beneficial though.

@ViciDraco the new cardiologist I just met last week who is taking over monitoring my heart failure, has told me to remain on this diet if it is what helps me, because I live in this body and know best what helps and what hurts it. I think it confused him, but I'm glad he at least understands that my experience is real instead of dismissing it like some other doctors try to. Going back onto carnivore diet brought my heart failure enzyme BNP down by 126 points in less than a month and has allowed my condition to become actually manageable when the furosemide medication alone wasn't controlling my symptoms. I wasn't even able to walk up a flight of stairs a few weeks ago or stand up while showering, but the other day I was walking around carrying my 25 pound baby for quite a while I was really surprised how long I was able to keep it up!
