Yes McDonald’s should offer better diabetic options

To all the diabetics out there why have I been asking for sugar free syrup for 20 years but they can’t seem to carry healthy options for us? We all know McDonald’s is unhealthy but this is just disrespectful to not have a sugar free option. You try to contact them about the issue. The employees say it’s too high above them. You call the suggestion line and they basically tell you they don’t take suggestions because they receive too many. That they don’t listen to people trying to sell them products because they get too many. I think no one should eat at McDonald’s because we know it’s like eating from a dumpster but as diabetics we should all say forget McDonald’s if they can’t offer us an option for syrup. Pretty simple but it’s been 20 years they can’t offer us anything 🤔. They don’t care about your health or safety

I agree. Since you are diabetic you should be forgetting about McDonalds.

I agree that McDonald's is garbage. So why bother going there?
lissah · 36-40, F
Im sure they dont sell many pancakes
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@lissah They do. Usually three of them. Rather thin pan cakes though on the "deluxe breakfast".

Value wise it's a better deal than the other combinations. Three pan cakes, two sausages, two bacon, two scrambled eggs and a hash brown and an English muffin. With a medium coffee under $10. They refuse to do a small coffee though. The medium coffee is their money maker on the deal.

I do believe it's the largest meal they have on the menu. Morning, day or night.

So it's the big eaters that order it.

Want to know why over weight people are so big and why there are so many at McDonald's in the morning? 🤷🏻‍♂

McDonald's is making people pay to be slim. Slim means more food costs. Less buying in quantities.

I get frowns when I order a small coffee. 😆 It's just under a buck.

If your grasp of both nutrition and food safety regulation is so lacking that you can't see the difference between eating at a fast food place and eating from a dumpster, you're not really in a place to offer criticism- or you've never had to eat from a dumpster, and are simply uninformed (for the record, you do much better with trash cans, since it's less rotted).

That said, diabetes is far more common than Celiac, and plenty of places have options for THOSE folks; seems to me you've found a possible niche market. If you're not in position to exploit it directly (i.e., by opening such a restaurant yourself), you could suggest it to others who are.

Why don't you stop eating waste which should go to the junk dump? 🤨
If you’re diabetic why are you eating at McDonalds? I wouldn’t think they have anything there that a diabetic should be eating..
hun you go a t mc donalds there is nothing and i mean nothing healthy there its junk food fast food you wnat healkthy shit stay home make it operiod
mcdonnies is not for the weak,
DearAmbellina2113 · 46-50, F
If you're diabetic, just stay away from McDonald's.
helenS · 36-40, F
@DearAmbellina2113 ... or any junk food chain, for that matter.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
No-one has to buy MacDonalds food! Just avoid the company.

(I have had a Macds. burger. Only once. Never again. No flavour except the sauce. Up-price-down-value.
gregloa · 61-69, M
You answered your own question!
Zonuss · 46-50, M
Because syrup is not sugar free.
If that was the case it would not be syrup. 🙂
Ramrod · 56-60, M
@Zonuss And the fact that if it is sugar free then there are chemicals that are taking the place of the sugar, and the chemicals can be worse than the actual sugar. :)
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Ramrod So what. Eat it in moderation.
If youre a diabetic you shouldnt be eating sugary foods in the first place. 🙂
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Zonuss True, but unfortunately its manufacturers call it "sugar-free syrup", not ".... substitute."
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Everything has to do with costs in this equation. The diabetic options cost a whole lot more.

Are you willing to pay for that option? And if so should everyone pay more for your disability? 🤷🏻‍♂

I don't like today's economics. Yet it is an ugly reality. 😞

The whole system should be scrapped though. And that involves a whole world more than McDonald's.
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
You’re saying the reason not to eat that poison is that they don’t carry sugar free syrup ?
I can think of 100 better reasons than that not to eat it.
You could just not go to Macdonalds

LMAO,if you have health issues and you are eating at McDonalds or any fast food place sugar free syrup should be the least of your concerns, syrup vs everything else that is going into your system ???? but i get it,we try to make ourselves feel good about something. :)
who goes to a fast food "restaurant" expecting healthy options?!
SirLirkALot · 46-50, M
so why don't you add your own syrup? you worried the chef will complain? haha
Likestoenjoylife · 51-55, M
Probably cost and maybe taste its always about the money
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Sugar free syrup sound like an eggless omelette. I know they are marketed like that but...wtf?
Selah ·
Destroy them.
twistedrope · 26-30, M
McDonalds don't care about your health and safety. I'm going to go with a yes.

No, they shouldn't do it if they don't want to. It's an executive decision, the franchisee could have their license revoked making that change. The franchise owner company of McDonalds don't work in restaurants, they're beholden legally to their shareholders.

Best just go to a local restaurant and pay the premium, maybe asm them there?

Personally I think MC'Ds maple syrup is sus.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@twistedrope All those chains' menus and recipes are set in their remote headquarters to suit bean-counters, not cooks or gourmets. It's not just a MacDonalds problem.
twistedrope · 26-30, M
@ArishMell I entirely agree.
