That's a good way to cause restaurants to go out of business. The higher the prices for the food, the fewer people will be able to afford to go. Charging customers to use the bathrooms is ridiculous. As a customer, THAT would make me angry, and I would never go to that restaurant again. Boycott time!
I DON'T think they should pay servers more money. I think that servers provide BETTER service if they believe they will receive a nice tip. I went to a restaurant in Lansing, Michigan on Easter day one year, and the service was impeccable. I tipped the server $40, because I wanted him to know how much I appreciated the quality of the service.

@4meAndyou In Oklahoma they have to have a public restroom in restaurants. I took a food handler class when I was young and learned that. People have to be able to go wash their hands before dining if nothing else. It helps to cut down on germs both for the diner and anything they touch, yikes if it was a buffet restaurant. I don’t know if all cruise ships have them but some have washing stations near the entrance so that diners will wash their hands before going through the buffet. I think all new restaurants should have at least a sink with hand soap and paper towels or a dryer fan near the entrance like those cruise ships do.

@cherokeepatti It's the same here. Every establishment serving eat-in food and alcohol to be drunk on the premises is required by law to have bathroom facilities.
