Anyone on here old enough to have tried meat preserved in raw honey?

Nope. Never heard of it. Beef Teriyaki is sweet and delicious, so I WILL bet it was good! I was just reading about it, and it does say that it is not a good method for long term storage because meat has such a high moisture content.

Also, the meat has to be sliced almost paper thin, so that the honey can reach every bit and kill all the micro-organisms in it.

No, never tried it. I wonder if the meat crystalizes in the honey?

I'm old enough, but I don't think they did that down here.
