Pumpkin recipes

Before this month is over, I have to turn these beautiful pumpkins, which I was using as decorations, into food. I’ve never cooked pumpkin dishes from scratch before. I always bought the canned pumpkin. It’s funny that the more I try and cook different things, the more I enjoy cooking. (Couldn’t stand cooking. It’s so boring)

Even when they turn out not so good, I’m enjoying trying now. (Failed pizza from scratch and pumpkin/sweet potato soup) And I’m obsessed with pumpkin chili right now. It’d be cool to make it completely from scratch.

Good luck with your experiments.

Since I got my air fryer last summer I've been cooking (and eating) a lot of spiced butternut squash wedges. I think Pumpkin would be very similar

I cooked pumpkins in slow cooker,turned out good
Then I just scooped out the soft pumpkin and processes in food processor until smooth.
I added half and half with pumpkin pie spice.
Then froze in containers.
I'll add eggs and bake into pies at Thanksgiving

Good effort 🙂 It is sad how much usable food is wasted when people see them just as decorations.

Soup is my favourite - it freezes well.

I just wonder how the different colored pumpkins taste different....never tried ....i might have to.
