How do you boil your eggs?

My method
Put eggs in a small saucepan, cover with water, bring to boil.
Remove from heat. Leave for 8 minutes. Discard water
Cover eggs with chilled water for 4 minutes.

Then, for sandwiches I peel eggs, add butter, cheese, cracked black pepper, curry power if wanted.
Mash with potato masher to consistency required.

Take to Kalgoorlie and leave out in the sun. No need to boil water.

Put eggs in all metal strainer. Put strainer with eggs in boiling water. Time varies for hard boiled or soft boiled. Yet when done transfer strainer with eggs a plastic container and put in the freezer for 5 minutes to cool down.

Same technique can be use with a French fry metal mesh for a whole dozen eggs in a two gallon sized pot of boiling water. The mesh will stop them from moving around and crack.

I put baking soda in the water to make them easier to peel. Simmer for about 12-14 minutes depending on size. Drain and cover with cold water and repeat.

@cherokeepatti So you twice boil for 24 -28 minutes total?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Gusman No. I boil for 12-14 minutes and then drain them and put cold water on them, the water will get warm from the eggs so I drain them again and put more cold water on them to get them to cool down better.

@cherokeepatti My silliness, I thought - repeat meant repeating the whole process. Silly billy Gusman.
Using water from the fridge, it does not get warm.
I like using water

I boil mine with a heaping tablespoon of salt
I start the timer when water starts boiling and boil for 5-6 minutes. Then I remove pot from heat and let eggs sit for 10 minutes

The salt makes them easy to peel

For about 5 mins. Then chop up and add to potato salad or sandwiches. Or sometimes i leave the egg whole and coat it in tuna, chopped onion and breadcrumbs and fry for a few mins for picnics.
Place them in a pot…add water, pinch-o-sal and boil for 10 mins. 💁‍♀️
