It’s slow cooker weather here or as close to as a Brisbane winter can get. I might do a lamb casserole tomorrow, what do you put in yours?

@Notladylike I prefer mutton to lamb in casseroles - I cook a Liverpool dish called "Scouse" - but I prefer assembling it in a pan on the stove to get the right texture.

@KiwiBird You export all the mutton to us! No hogget though

@ArtieKat everyone should note, the people of Liverpool are also called Scouse, so "cooking Scouse" and "eating Scouse" can have many different connotations, from the sexual to the cannibalistic.

this might also be thought of as an example of Scouse humour, which has a flavour all its own...

@KiwiBird I gave up brown sugar - too many stones 😸

@Notladylike Anything really, onion, garlic, indian spices, olive oil. Use up any aging vegetables....

@geoam1 I broke mine while moving and haven’t got around to replacing it. I just do it in the oven

Ive got a chicken in the oven
Caramelised onions, all the garlic, rosemary, thyme, cinnamon sticks and cloves, a little oregano and pretty much the best part of a bottle of wine
@V00doo I like that. More wine instead of stock?
@Notladylike I never add stock. Maybe a splash of water
@V00doo I’m going to try that

I leave out the lamb and then add tuna and noodles
