[Food] Ok what's your favorite fish?

@Adstar that would be a real treat, I expect here in the USA.

Yet don't you folks limit the export of those types of fish?

China is complaining about that, I believe, as well as some Muslim countries.

Not that the USA is complaining. Nor is anyone else.

@DeWayfarer I do not know of any limit in the export of fish.. Australia does have large national park areas in the great barrier reef and other areas around Australia where fishing is banned.. But there are a lot of areas where fishing is allowed.. My brother went on a fishing tour ship into the reef and had a week of fishing onboard and thats how we got this fish..

China is a terrible fishing nation. They fish areas out and turn those areas into dead zones.. The Chinese are not allowed to fish in Australia's territorial waters.. The domestic fishing industry in Australia is regulated to prevent it from over fishing the seas around Australia..

Not sure if we export any fish to the USA.. But we do get a lot of American sport fishing tourists coming to the great barrier reef to fish for Marlin and other challenging fish that are hard to catch..

@Adstar read that there was a huge controversy over supporting Muslim countries over their halal dietary laws on fish. Hense the limitations on that export of them. I can no longer find the exact article. Yet this sort of mentions it ..

China will complain about anything that China wants. China is hurting internally economically. And struggling to feed their people.

They have a huge trade surplus yet still refuse to help their own people.

@DeWayfarer As far as i know as long at the correct meat is supplied all a muslim has to do is pray over the food for it to become halal.. So i don't know why there would be any contraversy over fish..

Fish need to be gutted on the spot in certain way. No chemical used like preservatives. So forth and so on.

Since it's exported how do they get to the Muslim countries without spoiling? That means freezing them

@DeWayfarer Well then if it is too dificult then end fish exports to islamic nations.. There is enough demand in other nations to see all the fish bought and consumed..
