Cooking with stainless steel or non stick ???

I like my fry pans to be non stick but my pots are stainless steel. :)

I won’t have Teflon pans in my home. I was warned about them by the pet store owner who said the fumes from them being heated could kill my birds. I said if they are that toxic they aren’t healthy for humans either.

@cherokeepatti here we use teflon for sealing water air and gas lines

@MarineBob different has than heating them in the house on a cookstove
Double bottom stainless steel pots and ceramic fry pans because I haven’t found any reasonably priced double bottom fry pans.
Double bottom stainless is pretty much non stick, I’ve accidentally burned beans in mine and still managed to get it clean without much effort.

I'm no G. Ramsay with a staff to scrape my burnt crap off the pots and pans, so it's nonstick for me

I used my seasoned cast iron. My husband uses his fancy (and pricey) nonstick professional stuff (which I am not really allowed to touch). He is an amazing cook and his pans and knives are a source of pride for him. He loves me to enjoy his cooking. He wont even let me wash them. Its his thing so of course I honor his request.
I prefer cast iron, then stainless.

Cast Iron and anodized

I have one non stick Caphalon omelette pan...you don't want THOSE to stick...and I have non stick baking sheets, but I usually cover them with parchment paper or aluminum foil because they still stick...and/or spray them with non stick cooking spray.

I have pyrex or stainless steel for most cooking and for baking casseroles, and I have cast iron for deep frying and for cooking steaks and chops if and when those should appear in my diet again...☺️☺️☺️

Cast iron and glass pot

I use professional-grade aluminum for everything except my fry pan which is aluminum with a nonstick porcelain coating.
@Ontheroad
Aluminum pans leach aluminum oxide into your food.
I stopped using aluminum years ago.

@Onestarlitnight I buy the anodized aluminum pots and pans for cooking and the aluminum clad in porcelain for my fry pans. That pretty much eliminates any leaching.
there's some great non toxic, non stick cookware these days I love them

@metaldog anodized is good
@cherokeepatti also ceramic coating!
I'd have preferred clay pots, pans & wooden spatulas.
