Why I stopped cooking things from scratch

My dad, when I give him something I just spent over an hour seasoning just right, inevitably, invariably, and predictably goes for the salt and covers every inch of it.

My immediate response? The gut reaction to seeing that? "I'm sorry you think this dish is going to be so terrible. I'll never make anything for you again."

Salt isn't always about the food. It's necessary for the body to absorb water. I add salt to my own cooking when I feel dehydrated
