The basic biscuit

I’ve done my fair share of baking but never went to biscuits but tried making some
this morning.

Homemade biscuits is an art. I need to drag out a recipe and make some again. Been too long

@OogieBoogie but I do hunt down the squirrels I fry up for the gravy
@JohnnyNoir😂 I'm trying to Imagibe the ammount of meat on a squirrel 🤔

@OogieBoogie enough for 2 biscuits!

I love biscuits.
I've tried making them myself.
I've never pulled it off successfully.
We did open a hockey puck factory for awhile,...

Looks good. I usually bake the fluffier ones.

Seems more scone-like to me. A home baked biscuit is the real thing. Anyone who's not tried one doesn't know what a biscuit is.
@PhilDeep from what I've seen ... They are the same thing... American biscuits are the same as Aussie scones.
I think the only possible difference may be the amount of rolling the dough, but given the variety of recipes, I'd say that's more a cooks preference than a distinction.

@OogieBoogie Aha - so this in not a home-baked cookie, as our American friends call them. Explains it. Thanks :)

delicious!
Gotta love the sensation of butter melting into fresh made hot biscuits/scones.

Reminds me of winter afternoons. 😊

@OogieBoogie I like gooey cheddar cheese in a molten state in the middle of mine
