Felt old today . Tech had me beaten

There was an article in one of the Hospitality Trade bulletins recently - lots of the large chains are actually ditching this sort of tech and reverting to interaction with customers..... Sad to see that independents are abandoning the personal touch, devonman!

I've had that. Fortunately I had a code reader on my phone. That place (Japanese - I think it was a Wagamama) I went to in Coventry a few months back (you might have seen the post) worked on that basis. In the end it all went quite smoothly.

I'd have done the same thing. Not every use of technology is really needed. Grumbles.

Simply download an app, register with yet another username, yet another password, then find out that it doesn’t work with your current phone software. That’ll be interrupted because you’ve just got a call from a number you’ve never heard of, asking you if you’ve had an accident involving sausages in the last two years…

I've done that also. The world is changing. If you ask for a menu they will provide one

You use the camera on your phone to scan the QR code which will take you to their website. You then scroll through the menu, select your order and send it to the kitchen and pay for it at the same time. The food then comes to your table when it’s ready.
