As autumn is here, my daughter is insisting I finally try a pumpkin spice latte. It's never appealed to me, squash and coffee? Even after showing the picture below it hasn't put her off. To me, yuck.
Any company that openly refuses to serve police officers because they are police officers will never get a cent from me...plus, I don't drink coffee. 🤣
I enjoy Starbucks, but I've not tried one of those, and don't plan to. I think it sounds terrible too. Give me 4 shots of espresso and a splash of cream and im happy. Leave the syrups and spices out! If your daughter wants you to try it and you'd like to appease her, ask for an extra cup, pour a tablespoon or so of hers in it, and taste it. Maybe you'll like it... maybe you won't. Those specialty drinks are too expensive to buy only to discover you don't like it and have to throw away.
@GrannyWeatherwax I rarely visit a Starbucks these days, unless I'm on a trip somewhere, and then it's a nice treat. I typically make my espresso at home now. It's actually better than I can get out anywhere.
it doesn't much appeal to me. I think one of the keys is that it's 'pumpkin spice', which to me implies the spices often used with pumpkin(pie) - cinnamon, and similar others that I can't think of off the top of my head. the graphic you've added has the opposite of it's intended effect for me, lots of wiggle words, fear mongering, and things that make no sense at all. 'toxic dose of sugar'? I don't think there's any amount of sugar that's actually 'toxic'. certainly unhealthy, but words mean things.
I don't know much about this product but if it contains "Monsanto milk" and possible pesticide residue from using non-organic coffee beans, I have no reason to not assume that these things are in other products that contain milk and coffee as well.
@GrannyWeatherwax Grains and nuts containing glyphosate is no secret at this point and sadly, there's no way to avoid it if you want to eat them because it's used worldwide.
@GrannyWeatherwax It's concerning and it's the only one that is talked about. Who knows what else is used in agriculture. I'm curious about chicken meat, as that's the meat I eat the most.
So I had a coffee yesterday with pumpkin puree mixed in it and pumpkin spice sprinkled on top. It was so good I made my own at home today . No whipped cream though
As a food enjoyer and adventurous eater, no. Pumpkin spice is one of the most boring flavors I've ever come across. Desserts actually are all around boring
Looks like they changed the recipe in 2015 and started using real pumpkin. Still it is a bad choice healthwise. If I loved pumpkin spice I would get it, but I don't, so I stick to coffee. Better yet Id make it myself.
