I used to think that untill I spent a day or two without it
Its all in the head

Being an addict, who has given up all sort of drugs including alcohol/weed/sleeping pills, I have a coffee habit in addition to nicotine.
Quite a dependent case, early morning coffee, or craving for a coffee after a hard day's work.
I keep it moderate by avoiding the strong beans and using instant coffee.
@Domking Wow--you have been through so very much, my friend; amazing that you have been able to shake off so much!
ArishMell · 70-79, M
I don't - I drink coffee but more often tea; and occasionally chocolate, fruit juice or water. (Plain tap water, not expensive tap-water some factory has put into bottles with pretty labels!)

Though your question reminds me of once entering someone's office at work too see a curious calendar or diary on a filing-cabinet. Asking, I was told something like this:

"It's mine, showing my progress in cutting down on coffee!" encouraged by the others in her office.

She added that she had been drinking so much coffee that on stopping she did have withdrawal effects for the first few days.

@ArishMell cool 😎 send a text
it feels like the whole world is about to end if I go to my regular spot and they tell me unavailable. Who else thinks this?

I'm truly sorry, @jennycopeland, but I do not feels as though my "whole world is about to end" if you go to "[your] regular spot and they tell [you that coffee is] unavailable"... 😉🤣

It IS interesting how this can be the case, though.

Just recently, I’ve been having a pot tea in the morning. And then a midday iced coffee, just coffee and ice and a splash of cream. I can’t do it like I used to in the mornings my stomach can’t tolerate it.
Teslin · M
Didn't start drinking coffee until my late 20's.
But I do agree, it would be difficult to give it up cold turkey.
I DO, in fact i keep "emergency coffee" and alternate sources
going ot my regular spot? be sure i had a dose, before I left the house!

I drank about two pots of coffee a day for years and year. One day I set my cup down and quit…. It took my family several years before they would tell me how grumpy I was the month or two after I stopped drinking coffee…lol

Coffee is dirt water
Coffee is a drug, plain and simple. The drug companies want you to think exactly that. Another slave for them to plunder money from.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@JamesBugman Yes, caffeine is a stimulant but in coffee and tea is not very addictive, and you could throw your "plunder" accusation at any food and beverage manufacturer.
@ArishMell Lol, not very addictive. When I quit it was a solid month of headaches and leg pains, and about 6 months to be free of the effects. It is a harsh drug. If you don't believe me try going 2 weeks without any. Even one sip is enough to alleviate the pains.. Try it.
