@SW-User I’d love to make a cherry cheesecake with a pretzel crust for you. I used to love to bring that to potlucks and have them guess what the crust was made from. They ask me what it was and I’d tell them to guess, they thought it had nuts in it but it doesn’t

@BittersweetPotato I am the same way. Where I grew up (New York) the cheesecake was fantastic.

Since I have moved away, almost all of the cheesecake is quite different and people want to add fruit or chocolate chips to it. But a really good cheesecake stands alone quite well, I think!

(Although New Yorkers also have cheesecake with extras!)

I hope you find good cheesecake in Canada.

I have this wonderful cheesecake experience .. about 20 years ago, The state of Illinois cheesecake industry was coming to our big city to promote their industry. A big showoff event at one of the hotels with 10+ vendors and invitations to any and all in the food service industry to come and taste. But something went wrong with the mailing of invites, and only like 50 people showed up to this mountain of cheese cakes. So instead of enjoying a taste here and a taste there, or a slice if we looked like a big $$ potential buyer, everyone that attended walked away with all the cheese cakes they could carry. Not wanting to look like pigs, we left with only 4 or 5 cheese cakes.

Cherry cheesecake. I’ve made a pretzel-crusted cheesecake with cherry filling on top that is really good. Need to make it for the boy, I can’t have wheat any more but he would love it I”m sure.

well lets see never had one like it yet , it would have a soft thick Maple Icing all around , no cheery or strawberry guck on top , and has the regular crust underneath they use for cheesecakes

Usually a fruit one, especially in Summer but at Christmas I often make a Bailey's cheese cake and use chocolate biscuits for the base. I'm not good at baking them so mine are always set.

Toss up - the irish pub here does a bailey’s cheesecake and one of our italian places does a tiramasu cheesecake - both of them make my eyes cross they’re so good. 😂
