@Musicman Almost always when I go to Denny's or a local place called "The Big Biscuit" :) At home it's oftern the best 3 out of 4 and often pancakes or bacon and a fried eggs in the mix. Another nearby breakfast place called "Flap Jack's", and yet another called "Best Regards", both that are close to serving all my favorites. Opps,I almost forgot "Snooze" and "First Watch", two more breakfast places within a stone throw.
Is that also happening in other cities? So many breakfast/brunch restaurants?
Opps? almost forgot IHop, yet another one nearby. All very popular and pretty crowded. Some pretty creative. Like breakfast at Snooze is an adventure.
An interesting adventure some years ago was to make a list of as many mom and pop places as possible, asking others for their suggestions since many small mom and pop places don't advertise and may be in other than major strip malls and go unnoticed. Amazed at how many, and in some cases how tiny. We went through the list, one a week and made about 15 before winter intercepted our adventure. It was a lot of fun, great experiment. One thing I learned was how some had really loyal customer bases, like family with the staff knowing their names. I still frequent a couple, 10+ years later. One small Greek place only has 2 tables, still my favorite Greek restaurant.
FWIW, I just checked the menu at The Big Biscuit, a popular local, multi-location breakfast place, and what most here reference as the ultimate in breakfast items would cost between $13 and $17+ for the food alone. Add in the coffee, tax and tip and the total cost would be about $23 or more.
