Back in the day when I had friends, I loved going out with a group for breakfast. Its casual, cheaper , and more relaxed than dinner. Its just more fun and real.
We enjoy cycling or walking on non-busy Saturday mornings, and picking up a coffee and a fresh fruit at the store or market along the way. It's cheap, relaxing, and fun. Going out to eat once in awhile for breakfast is fun too, but I would not enjoy doing it often, I think. But we enjoy treating friends and taking them out to eat for brunch. Going out for coffee or tea with friends regularly, I could get into though. But it sounds like an expensive hobby. And we're all too busy usually for that kind of thing.
I'm sorry about your friends. Hope you can make a friend who enjoys early mornings and breakfasting and hanging out.

I don鈥檛 like talking to anyone early in the morning so I鈥檒l always pick dinner
I always thought that brunch was breakfast for people who tend to be fashionable late to events. That and clever marketing by the restaurant industry to capture the attention of that market segment.
I had those days too when I was younger--break and lunch out. I live in New Jersey currently though and honestly people up here mostly keep to themselves. Getting people to go out as a group would be really challenging up here.
I love going out for breakfast. I am considering going out this morning.

I have happy memories of brunch and late breakfast in restaurants with friends or family. It's a thing of the past now. Most of the places that served brunch or breakfast around here have gone out of business. Sunday brunch was a big deal back in the 90s and 2000s though.
@DearAmbellina2113 We call 3 pm meals linner (lunch and dinner) in my household. When I was toung we would start drinking again at brunch. Ah the good old days!
Since retirement, (and before the pandemic) I would have Sunday brunches. Usually about five other people, it was family and/or friends. My middle sister was the most frequent guest and one time she brought our mother (in the early days when Mom could still manage my stairs). I prepared salmon croquettes, using our grandmother鈥檚 recipe. Mom鈥檚 praise for them made my year. 馃ス
