What kind of a job would you like to do during retirement?

I'm a "retired" engineer (Got laid off May 15th of 2024). Finding I need something to do to stay active and prefer to get paid. Going back into engineering would be ok but let's face it. I'm too old. They only want young people. Plus, i only want to work part time. There are lots of teaching positions available but paraprofessional teaching at minimum wage seems risky. A local bakery needs a part time sheeter/laminator so I'm checking it out. Early start time is fine. It's close. I like baking. Part time...check. It would pay for groceries and an occasional massage.

I was lucky after retiring as an engineer in the aerospace industry. Our church needed parttime help, and I was qualified. They came to me and offered me a job that allowed me to work my own schedule, except for Sunday. I did it for four years before really retiring. I suggest you do what you like to do, even if the pay isn't great.
