Ones from juniper berries (gin) ones from potatoes (vodka). im fairly confident the type of yeast used to produce each is different and the flavors are different also im allergic to juniper but not potatoes.
I read in a W.C. Fields biography that gin is made from some kind of flower. Hence the term gin blossoms.

Gin is infused with Juniper berries, Coriander, Angelica root, Citrus peels, licorice, Cinnamon, Cardamom, and Orris root.

The base ingredients are the same, but in Gin, a type of berries are added during the distilling.

Yeah, I was never a Gin drinker. As much of a James Bond fan as I was growing up, I have never had a Martini............ "shaken, not stired." 😂

Both diluted ethanols but gin has botanical oils in it, specifically juniper
one tastes better with tonic water and the other tastes better with soda water 🙂
