i rarely ever drink now. but, when i did...... you could surely bet i was going to make some poor life choices while under the influence. LOL
@SheCallsMeCrushDaddy laughing. Yep. Amazing how we spend our money, our relationships and our freedom for a buzz.

We can actually make mistakes sober. But it’s not nearly as likely.
@Mamapolo2016 I think and act relatively normal when I’m sober. I have a knack for engaging in some very naughty behavior when I’m drunk or high. That’s why I stay clean now.

No it does not solve any problems. Neither does chocolate cake.

But I enjoy both in reasonable amounts..

I don't want to become an alcoholic or a diabetic.
@DrWatson What is the correlation between alcohol and diabetes then?
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@sunriselover I am just making an analogy between alcohol and eating sweets. That each can be done in moderation.

I was trying to say, that even though alcohol solves no problems, that in itself is not a reason to give up alcohol (although, it might be true that if one's motivation for drinking is to solve problems, THAT might be an indication that one should give up alcohol.) So, I drew an analogy with sweets to try to illustrate how I thought about alcohol use. That's all I was saying.

I don't really like alcohol but I usually don't say no to a good red wine.
@CrazyMusicLover 🍷 and a cookie 🍪 ?
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Iknowyourouttheresomewhere Why the hell would I want to combine wine and a cookie? I normally eat salty sticks or cheese with it.
@CrazyMusicLover There good 💁‍♂️. Sweet and salty pair well 😋

I will have one drink maybe every 4-5 months and that's all I need to remember it'll loosen you up a bit but it doesn't feel so great on the tummy or head.

long lineage of alcoholism in my family. after some early blackout binge-drinking, i said no more
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@pentacorn My mother-in-law went to her grave unaware that she regularly had blackouts. None of her kids wanted to confront her about her alcoholism.

I'm glad you were able to stop.
pentacorn · F
@DrWatson it can be insidiously destructive. it shredded my childhood

thank you. me too. i'd be dead now
No. In my case, it aggravated health issues.
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
No, it won’t solve my problems...but it can help take my mind off them for a while.

What problems? I drink ...I don't have any problems. LOL
@goodlil666 You are fortunate to have no problems. I have diabetes two, which is no friend.
goodlil666 · 51-55, MVIP
@sunriselover Oh , I have more than my share of problems. COPD and Parkinsons are the two most challenging . I just try to enjoy life and make the most of my time.
I mean it solves some of my problems..like.."God dammit! I'm sober." It certainly causes a few problems too.
lipstickguy · 61-69, M
it only created more for me, so I stopped drinking completely.
@lipstickguy very wise, whilst you were in control.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
It seemed to, but in the end, no it just made them worse.
akindheart · 61-69, F
nope they delay the inevitable and make you feel bad.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Seems to create more problems for many people if they rely on it.
DiegoWolfe · 36-40

RenFur · 70-79, M
It never has but I keep trying...
No, but I only drink moderately, not to forget. More than that would cause new problems.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
It never does buy I am not a drinker. Lots of alcoholics in my family.
