Yes its ver good for you 👍
hunkalove · 70-79, M
I love it. But only large curd. I used to put zesty Italian dressing on it.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
Don't like never liked it but ate when I lost complete taste after radiation treatment on the right side of my face and neck in 2001.
Eating was no longer about taste. It was about texture. Everything had a sawdust feel but cottage cheese was tolerable and a source of calories. Even something smooth like peanut butter was awful. I was miserable for about 6 months when I could first taste something sweet then spicy followed
Cigarguys · 41-45, C
@Gibbon sorry you went through that my friend
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Cigarguys I still have trouble with meats til this day
I happen to love it, but not everyone does. The taste for it tends to go with liking things like buttermilk, plain yogurt and fermented stuff, e.g. kimchi or natto. 😉

I doooo it's very good and healthy. With tomatoes and zaatar it's another story 🤤
BrandNewMan · 61-69, M
Yes, have it now and then
rachelsj · 22-25, F
Eat it every time I make lasagna
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@rachelsj I use it instead of Ricotta when I make lasagna -- I prefer its taste.
Northwest · M
Love it. I mix it with fruit.
I like it with salt and pepper. For some reason my family would have it as a side with a meat dish like steak or pork chops.
Livingwell · 61-69, M
It's great with fruit like peaches, Mellon, etc.
It's weird but tasty and has a lot of protein
Pfuzylogic · M
It is actually very healthy as you age and recommended for the last meal to maintain muscle mass!

The low-fat (2% milk fat) is not as tasty as the regular (4% milk fat), and some people don't like it plain. You can add certain fruits to it if you don't like plain. You can also have it with lettuce based salad. I personally, like it plain with no fruit. You can usually choose the curd size (lumps) too. Small curd is small lumps and large curd is larger, more solid lumps. Lastly, different brands usually taste different. If you try one brand and don't like the taste, try a different brand the next time.
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@IM5688 Online it says it has a soft cheese or mozzarella like taste?
IM5688 · 70-79, M
@Baybreeze Yes a good cottage cheese would be more like ricotta cheese. In fact, you can substitute ricotta with cottage cheese in most recipes. Cottage cheese is a lot softer than mozzarella, more soupy like.
WindTherapy · 61-69, M
I think like many things it's an acquired taste. Years ago I wasn't a fan. But now I enjoy it every now and then. I prefer if it's very cold and I put salt on it. The fruit comments sound like it would be good as well. I think I'd like to try some with peaches.
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@WindTherapy Is it almost a mozzarella type texture or flavor?
DragonFruit · 70-79, M
@Baybreeze No, mozzarella is much more solid in texture. Cottage cheese is watery a n d lacking in flavor.
WolfGirlwh0r3 · 36-40, T
I suggest a variety fruitcup but slurp the juice first
I used to love that stuff as a kid, haven’t had any in years then again there’s so many different things I haven’t had since many moons ago

Funny how we adapt to the environment we’re in sometimes it feels like I’ve lived a hundred different lifetimes just because of the variety of change around me re food and drink

Besides cottage cheese was always considered fancy … same as salmon and fruit bowls only consisted of apples and oranges

Berries were like the caviar of the fruit pile back then

Grapes 🍇 were a treat ☺

Nowadays I just enjoy mozzarella with basil on stone baked bread 🥖😏🥹🙏🏼💕
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
It’s good with pineapple or peaches. Yummy
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
I like to scoop it up onto Saltine-type crackers.
Cigarguys · 41-45, C
One of my favorite snacks
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
You either like it or you don't. 🤷🏼‍♀ I like it so I recommend it.
My Dad loved it. With fruit, with applesauce. I loved my Dad but I couldn’t love cottage cheese.

I couldn’t like it, not even a little bit. Same with yoghurt. I think it’s a texture thing.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
If you love straining the lumps of gone off milk through your teeth you'll absolutely love it. (Any Brits remember the Mary whitehouse experience? Hmm milky milky 🤣)
mainvane · 61-69, M
cottage cheese is high in protein and low in carbs
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
I like it ,but I've been eating it since I was a kid .
Don't get the lite kind that's horrible.
I like small curd better than large curd.

Sapio · 51-55, M
It's good with jelly.
DragonFruit · 70-79, M
No, it's not very tasty and it's watery...I would recommend something else, such as yogurt instead.
