Plenty of elk
anythingoes477 · 31-35, M
@Carlisle Elk is great meat. Moose too.........but if you add the cost of an out of state tag, processing costs, travel to get one (if you do)....and now gasoline if travelling from out of state.........motels and food costs during hunting seasons...........the price per pound is about 6 x the price per pound of beef.
But yeah.............tasty for sure.

Excellent advice. With all that is happening in the world, supply chains are stretched tight. At the very least you are looking at steadily rising prices. And real shortages are likely here and there, if not worse. If you have the option to stock up on anything you normally eat that has a long shelf life, now is a good time. Avoid the rush and the price gouging later. This it not advice on doomsday prepping. Its just stocking up..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Can we all get along, I think Trump is an egomaniac.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, MVIP
@IsawDDevil We agree. And for himself it would do no harm to allow that to continue. But now is running a country. Noy just wasting the money of fools silly enough to give it to him. That makes him everyones problem.😷

@jefferson Great. But Britain is still a net importer of food..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman By calorie? By mass? By monetary value?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, MVIP
@AlienTheExtraterrestrial By any measure. Here is a little light reading..

We jar our own stuff from the garden. And have a beef farm. Is the price of field corn seed gonna go up ? Though yes, I've noticed food becoming more expensive.
anythingoes477 · 31-35, M
@pride49 Good for you...........but yes seed corn is going to go up. So are chemicals, diesel, and fertilizer. If you own a farm you have seen that happening. When trump killed grain sales to China, farmers were left to watch what they had already planted sell for less than they had in it to grow it. That has already bankrupted more farmers in a year than the last 4 years before trump combined. And the rest have cut back planting to cut overheard hoping to weather trump and survive. Less farmers raising corn..............less seed corn. Less seed corn.....higher prices for what there is.
Unless you grass feed.........less corn means higher feed cost to raise beef to market. And that cuts your bottom line. That and trump undercutting you with beef sales from Argentina.

The cost of food is so high I can't afford to be fat

They said the same thing the sunmer of 2022 i don't know why anyone is still keeping up with this soap opera
anythingoes477 · 31-35, M
@SW-User You're right. What does a person know about business that owns 4 of them..............when I can gain sooooooooooooooooo much real life wisdom of the world from someone whose been out of high school less than 4 years.......and probably still living with mama.

@anythingoes477 i can say from personal relationships business owners are the most shut in and detached from the world. However you want to see me the thread shows you playing into my game and looking foolish. I never stated a political opinion, i mocked the idea that the world is falling apart because you don't like a world leader. I called out both sides for that kind hypocrisy and just let you spew. No restaurant owner who genuinely believes the supply chian is drying up us going to be spending these crucial months discussing politics on an anonymous site. This isn't venting it's a tantrum disguised as commentary
anythingoes477 · 31-35, M
@SW-User Yes it is..................but I let you do it. Done now?

@anythingoes477 ok, and ?
anythingoes477 · 31-35, M
@XxBlahxX There is no "and". I believe in God..... but I also believe in common sense and that God helps those who at least try to help themselves. I'll plan.. you pray.... and at year end we'll see whose ahead of the game

@anythingoes477 ok I hope we can come back to this post 😊

@jefferson Of course. But the vast networks that harvest transport and process the food will be in trouble ans its possible many crops just wont get harvested.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman i gor wmy oown vegeatables in the uk, its easy to do,,canned food is not good for you
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, MVIP
@jefferson Agre😷ed. Frozen vegetables are however very good and prepped well (around here at least)
Who the fuck can afford to stock up?!?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, MVIP
@MyMonstersAreReal I look up the price reductions on my regular buys and buy up when they are cheaper. I get that not everyone can do that. But looking on line before you shop can save you a lot.😷

@kodiac If the wealthy aren't paying their fair share someone has to make up the loss of revenue. That would be you and me. Afterall, there is a trillion $ military budget to feed.
FYI When the wealthy and corporations get tax breaks they use it for stock buy-backs which do nothing for the general economy.
