Nah you do belong, people hop on trends and it's a psychological thing. There's nothing wrong with enjoying those complex type flavors if one enjoys them but the trend thing where a majority seems to love it is only because of trends and advertising.

I've countless times tried fancy coffee and teas because I really wanted to see the hype but it was just ordinary. All that hype for nothing.

The psychological aspect is the reason people do those things. If you "think" this "should be" great and you want to fit in, feel fancy like you're doing something elitist, then the trick works for the most part, placebo effect. You kind of get like a special kind of vibe thing or whatever.

Advertising does that for people.

All this tells me about you is that you know yourself, you know what you like and you stick with it. Nothing wrong with that, there's things I'll eat over and over again because I like it, simple.

I can, 200% Welcome to the club. Their coffee might be good but nothing beats good and honest conversation between friends, that is something I can truly relate to 😁

I drink black coffee Folders or Maxwell House

Plain, ordinary and cheap

The guys at work always make fun of me because all I drink is Hot coffee with a little cream and no sugar, even in the summer when it's 93 degrees outside

I make my own black coffee. The flavor of coffee doesn't need to be candified for me. Senore! Due doppio per favore! Gratzie!

I drink coffee. Just coffee. With nothing in it. If it's winter, it's hot coffee. It it's summer, I might get iced coffee.

Same with tea. No milk, sugar, lemon. Just tea. Hot or iced.

So yeah, I get it.

I went to Starbucks with my niece she goes, I want a large caramel ribbon crunch frappuccino. Girl behind the counter goes okay and for you sir? I'm going, ummmmmmmmm I guess I'll just have a cafe latte.

Meanwhile my eyes are all over that menu and I'm thinking how tf does she know what to order like that??? Then after like the 7th visit, it's in the most tiniest print on the bottom right of the menu 😑🤦

I wouldn't bother. They all come with a sprinkling of jizz because if you order one of those, you can bet that the barista suddenly develops anger issues. I mean... Wouldn't you if you worked there and got an order like that? I will come drink a normal iced coffee with you lovely lady. Especially in this heat... I'm freaking dying here lol 🥵🥵

I like having my iced tea and hot tea using bags , and my regular coffee with coffee mate coffee creamer... In a favorite souvenir mug at home.

I'm with you. These fancy, custom drinks have no place in my life.
You and I travel to the beat of a different drum...and hopefully will never catch up to rest of the band.

With coffee ask me two questions would you like milk and sugar. That's all it needs.
The same with a sandwich brown or white. Sliced or a roll. What the hell is it with the bread choices in Subway.

Yes, I can definitely relate. But whilst you feel you don’t belong. You are miles ahead of me. I’m not a tea or soda drinker. My main coffee intake is very basic instant coffee and that serves me quite satisfactorily.
Clearly you are much more sophisticated.
