Corned beef hash

This is another dish that goes down well in my family, I love making bakes that you can prepare ahead and then clean round whilst they are cooking.

In this I fry off some onions, then add a layer of tinned corned beef, then top with tinned baked beans.

Next cover with mashed potatoes (you can hide extra veg in the mash too, they will never know!) top with grated cheese and some sliced tomatoes and/or mixed herbs then bake until the cheese has turned golden brown.

We have this with salad or oven baked tomatoes with a bit of balsamic vinegar.

I never did like Corned Beef.
My grandmother would serve it at least once a week when I was a child. Always covered in a bland white sauce.

@Gusman that doesn't sound very nice but I think it's nice served in a hash.

@PatientlyWaiting25 Really, all I could taste was salt, a strange tasting meat and gluggy white sauce. 🤢

@Gusman maybe you'd like it a different way. I think white sauce on corned beef is very strange

@PatientlyWaiting25 I have been put off Corned Beef for life.
Is it still so salty?
I supposed being cured in brine it will always be salty.
Food fit for pirates. 🤪

@Gusman mixed with the other ingredients, it doesn't taste salt. Baked beans are quite sweet so there's balance.
