You know I always complain about coffee shops not displaying prices

Walked past one this morning and noticed prices displayed on all items.
So I went in and bought a coffee and hot scone.
Eventually these places not displaying prices do give in.
This is the third of four that I have complained to about who have seen the light.
The fourth? Not relenting as yet, though every time I pass, I do stop and look in the display cabinet.
Then I say, "No prices, no business from me" 😄

Different nation, different trading laws, but I have never seen a cafe in Britain that does not display the prices.

What does make me wonder though is why our public electric car chargers do not display the cost of the electricity (by kW/h). As far as I can see these are almost the only things that do not: all liquid and gas fuel filling-stations must show their prices prominently.

The only major exception to no prices shown appears to be builders' merchants, who carry a very wide range of materials whose prices are liable to fluctuate fairly rapidly.

Perhaps your cafeterias do not need show prices by law, but as you suggest, it is poor business practice hard to comprehend.

Same here. Every charger I have looked at does not have the cost of charging displayed.

No law saying prices need to be displayed. I simply point out to the business that it is a poor business model costing you customers.

@Gusman Yes, I understood your post! :-)

Do your chargers offer more than just payment by 'phone? The EU made the choice compulsory while the UK was still a member, but our government did not transpose the Directive into UK Law as it was meant to do. Some charger manufacturers do now fit card-readers as well, but I don't if by law or voluntarily.

@ArishMell No idea about the payment systems. I do not own an EV and have not looked into payment systems.

@Gusman I know only a little, from friends who own EV or hybrid cars, and from examining the public chargers out of curiosity.

There's no chance of me ever owning one. I could not charge it at home (no parking area on my own land), and could not afford one anyway.
