Was this at a reststop on a highway? Those locations tend to be significantly more expensive (somewhere between 25% and 50% more) than locations on regular streets...
I saw a report that fast food is down something like 28%. I figure a bunch of that is because of the demands placed on minimum wage increases in various states

Yeah it costs about 15$ for a simple meal at Wendys now. The good news is when we become the fourth reich it won’t last cause no one can afford to eat.
They hit a critical turning point where they raised prices to keep profits up but it reduced their sales quantity so much that they had to raise prices more and it's kind of spiraling.
@Roundandroundwego is just capitalism being capitalism. If you feed 1 million people last year and feed 2 million people this year but your profit remains flat you have somehow failed despite providing more to society. Fucked up incentives lead to fucked up outcomes.
They got us conditioned into fast food as at the time you couldn't buy and cook it cheaper than they sold it .now you need to sell the car for a take out
