Although I have toasted a pop tart once or twice, in the VERY distant past, they are so horrible...so truly non-food-like...that I've decided to give them a miss for the rest of my life.

@4meAndyou I'm gluten-free now, so no wheat and a host of other gluten-rich grains anymore and it's been fabulous for my health in every way. I rarely bake so I eat a ton of all kinds of rice and occasional potatoes and corn-based starches, like masa and polenta. It's been amazing for my waistline and cholesterol.

@faery I eat multi grain bread, but I try to skip bread whenever possible because they use white flour to make it...otherwise it would not rise. I DO eat a lot of beans. AND I eat whole wheat Panko bread crumbs, because the gluten free ones are made from rice.
Dinner might consist of a salad and soup, or chicken, stir fried with veggies...or fish with panko bread crumbs and two cooked veggies on the plate. Sometimes I make my own baked beans without sugar, and I add some ham. That makes a perfect lunch.

@4meAndyou It does take a lot to make a gluten-free bread rise. I've gotten good at making biscuits, though, and pancakes. I need to get some of those gluten-free panko bread crumbs for my gluten-free mac n cheese, which is a once-in-a-while treat!
While our diets are different, the commonality is low carb. Low-carb eating is the key!
