Have some milk handy. Cajun is most always too spicy to eat. (I eat plenty of Indian and Thai food.)

We have several local places operated by people with Cajun cooking experience developed in Louisianna.

We have like one here in northern Wisconsin that would come close Louisianna Cajun cooking style. Here is what I call fake Cajun cooking. It may look Cajun, but it don't taste or feel like Cajun cooking. You know what I mean.
So we want to travel restaurants that people actually been to

@HumanEarth We are in coastal southeast TX, so we have a lot of Louisianna influence on our cuisine.

Crazy Allen’s Swamp Shack is pretty good and it’s close to me.

I just looked them up, they might worth the drive from northern Wisconsin for food 😋😋😋

I haven't eaten in a restaurant in over 7 years. Can't imagine I ever will again.
HumanEarth · F
We do a few times a year. But mostly its made from scratch meals at home.
But when we're on a sight seeing drive across the country. We like try new things

STBX refuses to eat "non British" foods... so don't tell him that Pizzas are Italian and Hamburgers are German, or I'll never be eating again - again.
HumanEarth · F
Oh that has to suck.
I have to try foods from all over the world

HumanEarth · F

jazz a louisiana kitchen, is only restaurant around close that has pretty good food here
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
Well from Wisconsin you need to head S/E for several hundred miles until you get into New Orleans!
HumanEarth · F
I was hoping people would give me their recommendations go to places. Because if things go right. We might take the old beater a drive across the USA after harvest this fall
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@HumanEarth Cajun true Cajun cuisine is only truly found in Louisiana. Here in Ohio, there are no places truly comparable to the real deal.
I loved going to Louisiana fishing and eating nothing but Cajun when there, that spoils you/me for anything comparable here in Ohio.
Sorry friend I have no idea.
It will be great though to hit Schmidt's in Columbus for great German food with you!

Hey, bring them and wedge of Wisconsin Cheddar that gets you past all the local swamp hunters.
HumanEarth · F
I'll bring some of families homemade cheese down that is still wrapped the old fashion way with cheese paper
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@HumanEarth OMG! Splendid!
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
PS: They may mistake you for a swamp creature though, so go armed.
