I don't know that many Americans do that. That's not really a matching flavor profile. And the last time it was tried didn't last too long if I recall. I think it was KFC made a chicken sandwich with donuts

@Morvoren fairground food is a very different story. I think they compete for how bad for you they can be. That's where the "deep fry anything" trend started.
