I hate having a tree nut allergy.

It's severe to the point where if packaged food is processed on the same equipment as treenuts I can and have had anaphylactic reactions. It's worsened with age. I have to read every label. Most baked goods, candy, icecreams and what not I'm unable to have because of it. Even something stupid like cereal or hotdog buns I have to watch.

I feel like a pain in the ass going out to eat or at bakeries, coffee shops anywhere that sells food or drinks. For example on rare occasion I'll go to this smoothie shop. They have almond based things on their menu. Because of this I have to declare a new blender be used or else it's epi pen time. I don't go often because I feel like a burden and some kind of karen.

For a while I had to read every single label every time because everything contains GLUTEN and/or dairy products. It's a horrible pain in the a$$, and I am so sorry you are permanently stuck with this condition.

[@crimsondrop] 😞sorry that is the case most places serving food are aware of nut allergy and warn people if there food contain nuts . we had somebody i used too work with who had a fish allergy and unfortunetly one weekend i was working and somebody had used the microwave too heat fish . obviously this person never realised and like you it brought on a anaphylatic reaction . one saving grace was we worked in an hospital so got her around too accident and emergency

You'll have to stay careful, I'd hate to be in your position.

Allergies, and even intolerances, are an awful thing to have to deal with. My family has many which makes all things food a real challenge. My heart goes out to you.
Bless you , every food venue has to have the allergen file by law now so that’s reassuring but I understand that it’s not easy for you. You have my empathy 🙏🏼
