There’s a wine shop here in our little town. They have tastings every week - Friday evenings I think, and they seem to be quite popular. Just find a place that has them and go. Nothing to loose :)
it kinda depends on where you are; wineries seem to have exploded all around areas I've lived in, if you're on the east coast of the US, it should be pretty easy to find something. they all seem to be fairly to quite expensive (for my tastes, at least. I'm not a huge wine fan. I tend to like very simple wines). I suppose there are wine tasting events that don't happen at a winery itself, but I don't know about those

@dirge Never heard of that
@Tumbleweed it's sort of a high alcohol wine made from honey. Just where they make mead.
Tumbleweed · F
@dirge Oh, ok, I see now. Thank you!

Look for tasting opportunities. Many adult ed programs offer wine tasting seminars or wine and food seminar.

I read in a Womans Day magazine that white wine can cause skin cancer. I know two white wine lovers who both got skin cancer too. They were and are both older fair skinned Italian women. So maybe its true. FYI

@Penny Not really, Italians drink a lot of wine 💁♂️

@SW-User whatever

@Penny Ciao Bella 😌
Get a wine publication and there are some great vintage (as in wine vintage- the age) guides as well

Wine is very delicious. I can drink whole bottle. But I would suggest don't drink too much. 🙂
Tumbleweed · F
@Tumbleweed I've never tried that actually. I've been interested in trying a Kir Royale, have you had that before?
littlepuppywantanewlife · 31-35, M
@Tumbleweed I have never got a chance to try any champagne. 😅
Tumbleweed · F
@littlepuppywantanewlife I've read that it can also be made with sparkling wine.

Enjoy and have a ride! Don't drive

@JonLosAngeles66 make sure you eat along the way too. Food and wine is a lesson as well

Drink plenty of water 😊 Wine is very dehydrating …

Don’t drink and drive .

Remember, take a taste, don't drink much or you will get blitzed.

My advice is to go with what tastes good to you. Expensive doesn't necessarily mean you'll like it more than a more reasonably priced one. 🥂

@ineedadrink Yes, thank you! There are so many different types so I've got quite the experiment ahead of me but I think it sounds fun and definitely a new experience

Tumbleweed · F
@Londonguy23 That sounds absolutely wonderful!! I'd love to afford a trip like that!!

@Tumbleweed Please keep in mind that if you drive a car, there is a chance of injury or death. Any activity is like that. If you drink too much water, it is deleterious. Maybe one should never fly.
The point is that no life is eternal. Ben franklin is reputed to have said that "Beer is proof that God loves us."
It is a question of what enhances our life without undue risk.
