it kinda depends on where you are; wineries seem to have exploded all around areas I've lived in, if you're on the east coast of the US, it should be pretty easy to find something. they all seem to be fairly to quite expensive (for my tastes, at least. I'm not a huge wine fan. I tend to like very simple wines). I suppose there are wine tasting events that don't happen at a winery itself, but I don't know about those

@dirge Thank you. I'm actually in Virginia and yes, there are alot of wineries around here. I'm not sure how expensive they are, I'd feel stupid spending alot of money and end up hating it but if I'm about to embark on a new experience, I have to be prepared for that. I watched a movie that sparked my interest, I don't party at all but lately I've been wanting just a quiet drink at home after work.

@Tumbleweed it's sort of a high alcohol wine made from honey. Just where they make mead.
