After doing an easy Google search, I see they are potato chips. There's many brands here in the US. Lays, UTZ, Dorito's, Ruffles, these are all potato chips.

Walker's Crisps are made in my country.
wonkywinky · 51-55, M
Another UK/USA confusion.
In UK we call them "crisps",in USA they are "chips".
The best is "fanny".In USA it means "bottom".In UK it means not the bottom...

@wonkywinky I like that coy clause!
Just to add to the confusion there is a British manufacturer of crisps that absurdly, labels them as "chips" even though selling them in Britain.

We have Lays. But I'm wondering if Walkers tastes different to lays. Wouldn't mind trying some of the Brit specific flavours
LemiaOfThunder · 36-40, M
@Longpatrol Walkers and Lays are the same crisps just walked walkers in UK for Sponcship reasons
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Longpatrol different flavors . I’ve had Walkers paprika chips that were really good and have never seen that flavor in the USA
Anniedlr · 26-30, F
They are the same thing and also sold as Smiths in Australia 😂😂🙂
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Anniedlr Ah - for generations the main (only?) make of potato crisps in Britain was Smiths, originally sold with the salt held in a small twist of greaseproof paper packed in with the crisps.
So... Walkers took over Smiths, perhaps?
I would not be surprised though if all these brands are now owned by one American conglomerate anyway, even if the snacks themselves are still produced in their home countries.
I have noticed one British manufacturer of potato crisps labels them by the American term, chips - despite crisp and chips being very different forms of deep-fried potato.

@ArishMell More complicated than that, the old best selling brands like Golden Wonder sold their wotsits and quavers to Walkers but not crisps, they are still going and also make many own label packets of crisps. Smiths are similar, do not know what happened to Chipmunk crisps, once a major compasny in the 1960s/70s

Lays and other brands. We don't have Walkers.
Crusti Croc, Snack Day, some local brands..

Must be Lay's, because I've never heard of Walker's.
