I am not Jewish. I do love latkes, but I do not think I have ever had anything that "officially" was Kugel. I have had similar casseroles, but I think latkes are more distinctive.

@DrWatson haha are you sure you know what kugel is? Ain’t no hash brown in kugel lol. Noodles, cottage cheese, cinnamon, sugar, etc.

@Zeuro I thought it could be made with either noodles or potatoes. Oh well!

@DrWatson I think there is a potato kugel but I don’t know anyone who makes that! Noodle one is much more common

My grandmother used to make kugel.

Love me some latkes
BOTH! I grew up with both of those. Also, gefilte fish, pickled herring and every other ethnic Jewish food. I'm not Jewish, myself, just raised within a predominantly Jewish community.

@Harmonium1923 yum. Though my mom makes them ground rather than shredded, which imo is so much nicer
I love latkes, but they're a little too greasy for my system. On the other hand, the kugel is high in carbs, which is also not good for me. So, it's kind of a toss-up.
does it come in sausage mcmuffin?..
