I am not Jewish. I do love latkes, but I do not think I have ever had anything that "officially" was Kugel. I have had similar casseroles, but I think latkes are more distinctive.

@Zeuro Perhaps none! When I answered, I was thinking of casseroles involving hash browns, but of course it takes more than that to be kugel.

@DrWatson haha are you sure you know what kugel is? Ain’t no hash brown in kugel lol. Noodles, cottage cheese, cinnamon, sugar, etc.

@Zeuro I thought it could be made with either noodles or potatoes. Oh well!

@DrWatson I think there is a potato kugel but I don’t know anyone who makes that! Noodle one is much more common
