How many think Anheuser-Bush is really being taught a lesson with Bud Lite? Modelo just took over #1 in world beer sales.

Guess who owns Modelo? Anheuser-Busch. While some stupidly boycott one thing Busch owns.......they are handing Busch money with the other hand. Ironic, huh? ;-) ;-)

They own a lot of different beers

People don’t bother to look into it

Same goes for food companies
Ynotisay · M
My understanding is they own distribution outside the U.S. Another U.S. corp owns the American market.
But what I really like is that it's made in Mexico. Yeah. Build that wall rubes.
@Ynotisay This comment kinda sums up why Trump never really wanted to build the wall.
Ynotisay · M
@BohemianBabe Talkin' about a "big, beautiful wall," that someone else will pay for, is way easier than building it.
They are still losing money to other beer companies . That does hurt the stockholders. BUD light had a promotion where you would get 50% rebate back on a case of beer. Just goes to show you they are hurting and probability will never get some of those customers back.Their a lot of different beer companies out there beside Medelo.

Anheuser Busch is not the owner of Modelo in the US
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
It's the brand not the corporate they're trying to hurt. They're doing a good job of it much to your displeasure, which makes me laugh at you, it makes all of us laugh at you, we are all laughing at you.
jehova · 31-35, M
@Like2play @Like2play I'm saying why is he being so negative I hate budlight but it is easy on the liver which is good
jehova · 31-35, M
@Like2play agreed I generally don't drink alcohol at all
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
@jehova I go for Steel Reserve 8.1% of alcohol by weight I mean really Butt light is really pathetic.
MadraLaska · 31-35, F
Anyone who will stop drinking a beer they like because of this is an idiot, this is simple!
The people who protested Bud don't vett anything. They just follow what they see on Rightwing Media.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
You're very bothered by this story...you an AB shareholder or something?
Adogslife · 61-69, M
I think the larger point is to not piss off your clientele through poor marketing.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
Imported beer? At least it's not being run by Black Rock.
HannahSky · F
It's a huge corporation. They own a lot of other brands.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
Anhueser Bush is a large complex entity marketing as they have for years very low quality products. They bought out Carling Black Label in the late 1960s and expanded their old Atlanta factory. Brand X who knows who buys it? They are heavily involved in distribution.
pdockal · 56-60, M
It's no longer Anheuser-Busch and no longer owned by Americans

It's Anheuser-Busch InBev

The Buschs were forced to sell to InBev (Dutch company) in 2008

I stopped drinking bud & bud products shortly after
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
Yeah but guess what, though. Anheuser Busch owns Modelo outside of the US. In the US, they are run and owned by an entirely different company called Constellation Brands.
@IWasCallingYaLarry And................your point is? The $$$$$$ still goes in the same pocket.
Catzgano · 31-35, F
I don’t get the boycott who cares who promotes something?
Jakefromnj · 41-45, M
@Catzgano I don’t understand the boycott myself. I found nothing wrong with their promotion, and definitely nothing offensive. I actually think she’s pretty cute. lol
DCarey · 46-50, M
@BohemianBabe Mommy, everybody who disagrees with me is a NazI!. Mommy, what do you mean I have to go to bed? I'm on Similar Wo.... Mommy! Whaaaaaaaa!
Do you think the share holders who hold bud lite stocks are pleased?
They have an obligation to shareholders.
I smell a class action lawsuit for a brand that’s never coming back…🍿
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
From everything I’ve read, not in the US.
I could be reading it wrong but you’re smart. You’ll find it.
jehova · 31-35, M
Fleeting principles. Alcohol is more powerful than principle. Apparently. I'd brew my own.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
I dunno, I don't drink beer, much less buy it. But my old man on the other hand, Budweiser is his beer of choice.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
InBev owns both. The overall dip in sales to them was so small as to be untraceable.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@Fukfacewillie

Your naieve
Look at the newest commercials
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@pdockal Back to date rapey frat boys I hope.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@Fukfacewillie

Jeeze that's a great comeback
Your very intelligent & mature
BeachGirl47 · 26-30, F
Anheuser busch owns a lot of the popular beers around the world.
Like2play · M
@BeachGirl47 a he user is owned it does own.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
True, but I'm sure In Bev is not happy about the lost revenue.
originnone · 61-69, M
that really is kind of funny.
Chickie · F
A site that verifies things says that this is false. Bud Light doesn't own Modelo but I don't care enough to do more research about a drink that tastes like piss water.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.verifythis.com/amp/article/news/verify/social-media/modelo-bud-light-not-owned-same-company-us-fact-check/536-b5763b81-4405-457c-b02a-4e568741d7ae

People can boycott whatever they want, it's their right.
With boycotts you have to pick your battles sometimes. I try to boycott Nestlé but it's amazing how many names they own. Hopefully our displeasure somehow registers with them
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP Displeasure or not.......the irony is the homophobics don't have a clue that EVERY SINGLE COMPANY IN AMERICA is now striving for------or has already attained their Human Rights Score...........which is the ONLY reason Busch...and Target and others do this. HOW they did it backfired............but they will just re-word it to get that 100 point score just like every other major company in America. And then the dumb will forget and Bud Lite will go on sale and all the hate will just be a memory. Meanwhile for every dollar Bud Lite loses........Modelo makes up for it. If you recall you all hated M&M's just 2 months ago. How's that boycott going? Loooooooooooong forgotten now, huh?
